Problem
You need to connect two broom handles. For example a telescope and a regular one to extend from 4.5 m to some 6m.
Parts List
- 2 x Perforated Steel tape 150mm x 17 mm (8 holes > 6mm)
- 2 x Allen Screw 6 x 40 mm
- 2 x Wingnut 6 mm
- 2 x Shrink Tubing 20 mm x 140 mm
- 1 x Allen Key 4 mm
Steps
- Cut the shrink tube to fit
- Pull the shrink tube over perforated steel tape and heat with a lighter to shrink it
- Bend the steel tape and connect ends with the Allen Screw using the Wing Nut and the Allen Key
- Create a connection between the two handles at two points where you tie together the parts with the perforated steel tape
Storage
To make the solution easily accessible when you need it you might want to store the preassembled parts and the tool in a plastic zip bag and store it close to your broom handles.
